Local export turnover, tourists surge sharply in H1

VGP – Ha Noi is estimated to post an increase of 7.37% in gross regional domestic products in the first half of 2017 and earn US$ 5.8 billion from exports, up 12.1% against last year.

The information was announced at a meeting of the municipal Party Committee’s executive board on June 11, reviewing the city’s economic-social development in the first six months of the year and its tasks in the remaining months. 

The city expects to welcome 11.85 million visitor arrivals, up 8%, and contribute to the state budget an amount of VND 102.5 trillion (US$4.5 billion), representing a yearly increase of 18%. 

The city is also estimated to record a surge of 74.6% to reach VND 190.9 trillion (about US$ 8.4 billion) in the registered capital from the non-state sector. It witnessed the establishment of 13,355 new enterprises (up 16%) with total registered capital of VND 101.5 trillion (US$ 4.47 billion), up 2% year-on-year. 

In the rest of the year, the city will continue boosting administrative reforms, improving the investment environment and taking measures to remove obstacles for businesses, especially capital and market. 

In addition, the city will strengthen urban management, particularly for pavement encroachment and construction, while ensuring social security and order, said Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai./.
