Karaoke bars, pubs in Ha Noi to reopen from March 23

VGP – The capital of Ha Noi will allow karaoke bars, pubs and discos to reopen from March 23 after having gone 35 days without new local COVID-19 cases, Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung has said.

Speaking at a meeting of the city’s steering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control on March 22, Dung stated that users of the aforementioned service must make medical declarations using QR codes and installing the Bluezone app on their smartphones.

He asked localities to strengthen inspection over these types of service and requested a forced shutdown regarding the units that do not strictly follow requirements on pandemic fight.  

The committee urged the enhancement of communication to help locals fully grasp the COVID-19 situation as well as prevention and control measures, while requesting organizations, agencies, business establishments, and the people to continue seriously implementing solutions in line with the Health Ministry’s 5K message, especially wearing masks and performing health declaration through QR codes.

The municipal Department of Health is responsible for directing units to strengthen COVID-19 monitoring at border gates and medical examination and treatment facilities, as well as in the community, in order to promptly detect and handle infection cases.
