JICA helps improve HN’s public transport

VGP - The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has dispatched their experts to carry out a detailed study for the implementation of a Project for Traffic Safety Human Resource Development in Hanoi (TRAHUD-II).The move was made in response to the municipal People's Committee's request.
The objective of the project is to assist the city’s related agencies to implement pilot activities in a bid to strengthen public transport, minimize traffic congestion, increase the number of people using public transport as well as improve the image of public transport.
It will help traffic management agencies enhance their capacity of public transport planning and transport management, said Takagi Michimasa, chief advisor to the TRAHUD-II project.
The project is expected to be completed by June, 2014./.
