Industrial production index increases slightly in July

Processing and manufacturing sector witnessed a month-on-month growth of 1.3% and a year-on-year increase of 8.1%. Electricity production and distribution picked up 8.2% and 4.9% respectively. Mining industry saw a month-on-month increase of 9.4% but a year-on-year decline of 32.7%. 

In the first seven months, IPI went up 7.3% against the same period last year of which mining industry suffered  a drop of 28.6%; processing and manufacturing grew 7.4%; electricity distribution and production up 8.1%; water supply and sewage treatment up 7.3%. 

Labor use index in industrial enterprises experienced a month-on-month increase of 0.5% and a year-on-year decline of 2.9%./.
