HN to pilot 5G at walking zone around Hoan Kiem Lake

VGP – The Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has been recently given a license to pilot 5G services in December.

Accordingly, VNPT was allowed to install less than 100 base transceiver stations (BTS). In Ha Noi, the group will install 50 5G BTS in Ha Noi and the rest in HCMC.
In Ha Noi, VNPT will develop 5G service coverage at walking zone around Hoan Kiem Lake and Hai Ba Trung District.
In HCMC, 5G service will be provided at Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon in District 1, and central areas at District 3 and District 10.
Earlier, the Ministry of Information and Commutations allowed local telecom giants Viettel and MobiFone to launch the pilot commercial running of 5G network in the two largest cities./.
