VGP – The Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports has issued a plan to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Mau Than Offensive and Uprising.

Under the plan, communications and information activities will be implemented in a practical, efficient, and economical manner from January 25, 2018 to February 22, 2018.

Accordingly, four large-scale panels will be installed in inner areas, four suburban areas, and 2,000 banners in key roads. Photo and picture exhibitions will be conducted to celebrate the anniversary.

Grass-root radio broadcasting and press agencies will broadcast news and art performances to local people.

The Tet Offensive and Uprising was one of the largest military campaigns of the Viet Nam War, launched on January 30, 1968, by forces of the North Vietnamese People's Army of Viet Nam against the forces of the South Vietnamese Army of the Republic of Viet Nam, the United States Armed Forces, and their allies.

It was a campaign of surprise attacks against military and civilian command and control centers throughout South Viet Nam. The name of the offensive comes from the Tet holiday, the Vietnamese New Year, when the first major attacks took place./.
