Mr. Chung announced the plan on April 20 at a meeting of the city Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The mayor recommended that the patients who have been discharged from hospital should follow additional 30-day quarantine at home.

People who came from foreign countries are also requested to comply with additional quarantine rules at homes after experiencing  14-day mandatory isolation at quarantine camps.

Mr. Chung added that Ha Noi, the  locality having the highest number of coronavirus infections in Viet Nam, would lower public health emergency alert levels if no new cases are confirmed by April 22.

However, the city will not remove all restriction measures but gradually lower social distancing regulations.

The Governor underlined the necessity of staying alert and imposing mandatory regulations such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and avoiding gatherings.

He stressed that Ha Noi will implement quick tests at Minh Khai and Phung Khoan markets in the coming time./.
