HN to host Mid-Autumn Festival 2020

VGP – The Mid-Autumn Festival 2020 will take place at the Walking Street in Dong Xuan market from September 17 to October 1.

The program is jointly hosted by the Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company and the UNESCO Center for Reservation and Development of Cultural of Viet Nam.

Children and tourists will enjoy various cultural activities, folk games, and traditional handicrafts. 

On this occasion, the Thang Long – Ha Noi Heritage Conservation Centre will organize a Mid-Autumn Festival from September 17 to October 4 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

Celebrations feature traditional activities such as dragon dances and making mooncakes, multi-colored paper and star-shaped lanterns.

The Mid – Autumn Festival is a harvest festival celebrated widely in China and Viet Nam. The festival takes place in the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, which usually with full moon at night.  

During Mid – Autumn festival, people will make moon cake – a rich pastry filled with sweet beans, lotus seeds and many other kinds of stuff inside the modern moon cakes.

Family members get together to enjoy the full moon with each other. There are many entertainment activities for children, such as a lantern parade./.
