The week includes seven major programs, namely a handicraft exhibition, a seminar on Hà Nội traditional craft villages themed “Potential for development and tourism,” a contest on designing gifts for the 1000^th anniversary of Thăng Long-Hà Nội, craft villages tours, a products show, and performances of craftsmen and artisans, and a business partnerships establishing program.

Typically, the handicraft exhibition will display special works of craftsmen and corporations in Hà Nội. The seminar will center on traditional values and criteria for developing handicraft villages and tourism.

The capital city of Hà Nội has 1,270 craft villages where 65% of the local population is involving in handcrafts. So far, 256 villages are making handcraft products which are important exports, contributing to local economic development, job generation and social welfare./.
