HN to ban smoking at 30 famous tourist destinations

VGP – Famous tourism sites such as Ngoc Son Temple, Ba Kieu Temple, Viet Nam History Museum, the Viet Nam Museum of Revolution, Quan Su Temple, Ha Noi Opera House, and the Old Quarter will become smoking-free sites.

The news was announced on October 1 in Ha Noi at a conference on non-smoke tourism pilot at Hoan Kiem district. 

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Nhan, Head of the Health Office under Hoan Kiem District was quoted as saying that 30 tourist spots will be subjected to smoking ban.

Ms. Nhan said that in October, cultural, tourism, and relic sites will be installed  with signs “No smoking” and impose punishment on infringement.  

In October, Management and Director Boards of the 16 cultural sites and 14 temples at Hoan Kiem district will sign commitments on non-smoking tourism destinations. These are 30 out of 190 cultural and relic spots at Hoan Kiem district. 

Hoan Kiem district represents a tourism, service, and trade center in Ha Noi with 190 historical relics and 20 cultural and tourism destinations. Last year, Hoan Kiem district welcomed over 2.1 million international guests./.
