HN temporarily closes E Hospital

VGP – The Ministry of Health has decided to temporarily close State-owned Hospital E after the latest COVID-19 patient in Ha Noi was found there.

The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on early August 20 confirmed one new COVID-19 infection case. The latest patient is an 87-year-old man residing in Thanh Ba, Phu Tho Province.

On August 11, he had symptoms of the disease. On the following day, the patient went to the Ha Noi-based E Hospital for medical check before returning to his family member’s house in Co Nhue Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Ha Noi.

On August 13, he was admitted to the Department of Hepatology, E Hospital and had a chest CT scan with pneumonia diagnosis. He was then transferred to the Department of Tropical Diseases.

On August 18, he had his sample taken by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the outcomes released on the following day showed that he was positive for the coronavirus.

He has been treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Ha Noi.

The Treatment Sub-committee under the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control tasked the Director of the E Hospital to seriously comply with safety and quarantine regulations in order to avoid transmission among health workers, patients, and the community. 

The Ha Noi Department of Health reported that from July 25, Ha Noi confirmed 36 infection cases including 12 community infections and 25 imported cases with zero fatality.

The city has reviewed 100,179 returnees from Da Nang of whom 66,914 were tested for SARS-CoV-2 with one confirmed case (Patient 979)./.
