HN takes lead in offering open mechanisms for enterprises

VGP – The world has entered the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0), requiring each locality to seek smart technologies to perfect the apparatus performance, said Chairman of the Ha Noi municipal People ’ s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

Chairman Chung made the point while attending the first-ever national forum on developing technology companies on May 9 in Ha Noi.

He revealed that over the past years, the city has conducted a large number of IT programs which target to build connectivity among different agencies; boost digital applications to cut time and costs; raise efficiency of citizens and enterprises. The city is targeting to bring digital services to everybody in anywhere.

In addition, the city has promoted technological potentials by transforming public investment to digital service hiring; mobilizing private business resources; building business management software system; integrating and exploiting digital services; optimizing electronic documents; boosting mobile device applications; and encouraging people to use digital technology. 

Over the last three years, the plan on e-Government building has attained positive outcomes. Information of over 9 million people was added to the local population database. Meanwhile, public services were handled quickly. 

Chairman Chung mentioned 17 technological application programs. The city houses 3,530 IT enterprises with VND 244,266 billion of revenue. The city has attracted a large number of big technology firms in favor of smart city building. 

However, Chairman Chung proposed the city build infrastructure and encourage businesses to produce new technologies. 

In addition, the city is building databases and encouraging the private sector to invest in infrastructure to generate a technology ecosystem.  

Regarding IT manpower, Chairman Chung suggested local schools add technology training curriculums with a view to producing high-quality manpower for Viet Nam to become a powerful technology country in the next 15 years. 

The city will continue to reform; offer flexible mechanisms; and become the first one offering open mechanisms for enterprises to flourish. 

Chairman Chung took the occasion to seek the Government’s support to pilot investment mechanisms in IT and setting criteria on local databases./.
