VGP – Hanoi plans to spend nearly VND 2 trillion to ease traffic congestion between 2012 and 2015, said Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Khoi.

Accordingly, Hanoi will strive to resolve at least 27 congestion hot-spots, reduce 40% of congested travel time and build eight overpasses.

The city will focus on issuing policies to encourage investment in infrastructure development through models like Build and Transfer (BT), Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), and Public Private Partnership (PPP).

It will also offer incentives, including preferential interest rates, land use fee reduction or exemption, equipment import, for BT investors.
