HN responds to World Environment Day
VGP - The Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee on June 2 held a meeting in response to the World Environment Day (June 5) 2012 themed “Green Economy: Does It Include You?”

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee Vu Hong Khanh called on all local and foreign organizations and people in the city to respond to the Day with practical actions and contributions to the construction of a new economic development model – green economy.
Greening the economy needs joint effort of every individual and organization along with proper policies, he said.
The meeting aims to improve people’s awareness green economy, encourage investment in renewable energy science and technologies, mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and reduce environmental pollution.

June 5 has been chosen as the World Environment Day by the United Nations since 1972.
