HN, Quang Ninh promote linkages

VGP – The Party Committees of Ha Noi and Quang Ninh jointly held a conference to assess cooperative outcomes and figure out development orientations in the next phase on August 10 in Quang Ninh.

Strong regional linkages

The two localities have cooperated to implement regional and sub-regional development schemes on the basis of the master scheme on the Red River Delta and the northern key economic region, and the economic triangle asix covering Ha Noi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh. 

Ha Noi and Quang Ninh signed memorandums of understanding with Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Ha Noi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Son La, the Trade Promotion Agency and the Yunnan trade department (China) to develop the Kunming-Lao Cai-Ha Noi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh economic corridor. 

The Ha Noi-Hai Phong-Ha Long highway plays an important role in perfecting transport infrastructure and forging regional connectivity among Ha Noi, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh. 

In addition, Van Don international airport serves as a lever for the economic triangle asix of Ha Noi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh. 

Tourism sectors of Ha Noi, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh signed and implemented the program on tourism development in the 2016-2020 period. 

In the coming time, the two localities will cooperate to develop industrial and tourism sectors; exchange information on industry, trade and export. 

Seeking sustainable growth

Addressing the conference, Secretary of Quang Ninh provincial Party  Committee Nguyen Van Doc suggested the two localities select specific goals for cooperation; beef up connectivity in economic growth, urban management, construction planning, education and training, and tourism development. 

Secretary of the Ha Noi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai stressed that Ha Noi attaches extreme importance to boosting cooperation with other localities. He also proposed the two cities exchange experience on successfully cooperative modals especially in administrative reform, IT application, and public service development. 

The Secretary recommended the two localities develop tourism cooperation; uphold heritage advantages in combination with cultural and historical tourism sites; boost logistics and export cooperation./.
