HN posts double-digit growth in five months

VGP – Hà Nội’s gross domestic product expanded at 10.73% on average in the first five months of 2011, said Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyễn Thế Thảo.

Of the figure, service and industry-construction sectors posted double-digit growth rates of 10.35% and 12.78%, respectively, while agriculture contributed 2.62%.
Speaking at a recent working session with the municipal leaders, Politburo member Trương Tấn Sang praised the capital city’s efforts to maintain its position as a leading economic engine of the region and the country as whole.
He however stressed the need for the city to accelerate infrastructure development and work with ministries and other localities to perfect dual coordination mechanisms as they are the key to the capital’s socio-economic development.
