HN joins hands to end AIDS epidemic
VGP – The Ha Noi Department of Health has organized a meeting to respond to the World AIDS Day 2019 under the motto “Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemics: Community by Community.”

Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee Le Hong Son praised the great endeavour of those fighting HIV/AIDS in Ha Noi, international organizations on HIV/AIDS in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The fight against HIV/AIDS has entered a new period which focuses on the fulfillment of 90-90-90 goal and termination of AIDS epidemic by 2030.
However, difficulties and challenges are lying ahead. As of October, 2019, the number of people living with HIV/AIDS in Ha Noi stood at 28,421 including 22,328 still alive. 100% of districts and communes have people living with HIV/AIDS.
About 5,000 HIV infected people have yet recognized their status. About 4,000 others have yet received treatment.
In addition, the discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS has been on the rise.
Vice Chairman Son underlined that Ha Noi always regards the fight against HIV/AIDS as one of prioritized tasks in socio-economic development.
Mr. Son called upon all levels, sectors, agencies, organizations, and individuals to spare no effort to enable all people to access to preventive services. All people living with HIV are given effective medical treatment./.
