HN hopes to boost investment with Singapore

VGP – Chairman of the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung visited Singapore from September 21-23 at the invitation of the Singaporean Government.

Via the visit, the Chairman hoped to survey and promote cooperation with experienced partners of 2019 Formula 1 season in Viet Nam and boost linkages with Singaporean large-scale businesses in Ha Noi. 

On this occasion, Chairman Chung and the Ha Noi delegation accompanied Permanent Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh on the latter’s official visit to Singapore; attended meetings with Enterprise Singapore (ESG) chief executive Png Cheong Boon and 

Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean.

In these meetings, Singaporean leaders highly praised the developments in the bilateral ties and constructive role of Ha Noi. So far, Singapore was the third largest investor in Viet Nam and the second in Ha Noi. 

In the coming time, the two sides would promote cooperation in smart city building, education and training, tourism, and people-to-people exchange. 

During a meeting with President and CEO of Formula One Chase Carey, the two sides discussed and agreed preparatory work for the upcoming F1 race in Viet Nam in IT infrastructure, telecom, and promotion. 

Chairman Chung hoped that Formula One would create favorable ways for Vietnamese reporters to cover F1 race worldwide from now to April, 2020. 

In reply, Mr. Chase Carey stressed that Formula One would promote cooperation with Vietnamese partners and the Ha Noi Peoples Committee to advertize Vietnamese culture to regional and international friends.

The Chairman also met with leaders of Singaporean leading businesses./.
