HN handles nearly 1,800 smuggling cases
VGP – In August, the Steering Committee for Combating Smuggling, Commercial Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (Steering Committee 389) investigated 2,200 cases of which 1,800 were punished.

Three cases were prosecuted; five people were captured; and nearly VND 300 billion of administrative fines were collected.
The illegal trade behaviors focused on commodities with high demands including beverage, bakery, candy, tobacco, clothes, footwear, cosmetics, food, and functional food.
In the rest of 2019, the competent forces will crack down on hot spots on smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods at Dong Xuan market (Hoan Kiem district), Ninh Hiep (Gia Lam district), Hoa Binh (Hai Ba Trung district), Ha Noi railway station, Noi Bai international airport, some warehouses (Hoang Mai district and Thanh Tri district).
In addition, the Ha Noi Department of Marketing Management will implement plans on prevention of production and smuggling of counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights./.
