HN encyclopedia completed

VGP – The ten-year-long compilation of the first Hà Nội encyclopedia was wrapped up with a summing-up ceremony held later last week in the capital city.

The work consists of 18 volumes with around 8,000 pages, introducing the capital city’s 1,000-year history.

The encyclopedia covers 18 major themes including history, geography, politics, law, economics, science and technology, social sciences and humanities, education, healthcare, literature, language of Hà Nội, arts, information–publishing, museums–vestige sites, beliefs–religions, custom-festivals, sports, and cultural and scientific achievements.

At the ceremony, Mr. Phạm Quang Nghị, Secretary of the Hà Nội Party Committee, applauded the researchers and scientists for their efforts and contributions to finalizing the work.

On this occasion, 20 units and 24 individuals were awarded for their merits./.
