Joint efforts to overcome difficulties

Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu said that the unit worked with airlines, travel agencies, destinations and accommodation establishments in late July to discuss measures to share difficulties and stabilize the Ha Noi tourism market.

Accordingly, the airlines, including Viet Nam Airlines, Bamboo Airways and Vietjet Air, have designed policies to support the capital’s tourism sector.

Vice Chairwoman of the Ha Noi Tourism Association Trinh Thi My Nghe said the association has sent a document to the Departments of Tourism and the Tourism Associations of seven cities and provinces (Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Kien Giang, Lam Dong, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong) asking for assistance to tourists in various ways.

Touching on solutions to remove difficulties, General Director of Flamingo Redtours Nguyen Cong Hoan said that his company is implementing a propaganda campaign on social networking sites to call on tourists to share difficulties faced by the tourism industry by agreeing to reschedule their projected routes to an appropriate time instead of requesting a cancellation.

According to Director of Tien Phong Travel Company Phung Xuan Khanh, tour operators should urgently implement disease prevention and control measures to ensure the rights and safety of tourists to create a good impression about their brands.

Taking resolute action to adapt to new situation

Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu said that in addition to proactively building plans and action programs to prevent tourism activities from being “motionless” and stay ready to leapfrog opportunities, the capital’s tourism industry is coordinating with the Viet Nam Tourism Association and relevant units to “re-activate” the pandemic prevention and control system. “The Ha Noi Department of Tourism has asked the units to comply with anti-epidemic measures and maintain constant vigilance, as well as to accelerate the development of new products to meet the market demand, in which developing night tourism will be one of the highlights in the near future”, Hieu emphasized.

Once again, Ha Noi tourism is confronting numerous challenges due to the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, given its experience in coping with the disease and joint efforts, it is hoped that the capital’s tourism industry will soon overcome difficulties and successfully realize the “dual goals” of combating the pandemic and ensuring socio-economic development.
