Ha Noi’s leader receives Thai Ambassador to VN

VGP - Secretary of the Ha N oi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue on September 23 received outgoing Thai Ambassador to Viet N am Tanee Sangrat who came to bid farewell to the Ha Noi leader.

At the reception, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat spoke highly  of Ha Noi’s efforts in the fight against Covid-19 and expressed his thanks for the strong support from Ha Noi's authorities for the Thai embassy.

The ambassador said Viet Nam’s medical equipment donation for Thailand has been instrumental in the latter’s response to Covid-19.

Mr. Tanee Sangrat agreed with Ha Noi’s Party Chief suggestion on the resumption of economic activities between the two countries as soon as the pandemic ends. 

In turn, Hue highly valued Mr. Sangrat’s contributions to the relations between the two countries, as well as that between Ha Noi and other Thai localities.

Mr. Hue expected Mr. Sangrat, in his new position, to continue supporting the two countries’ strengthened strategic partnership, while the local authorities are ready to support the Thai Embassy in Ha Noi on various issues.

He also briefed the Thai ambassador on the capital city’s efforts in the Covid-19 fight, adding there have not been any infections among the expat community in the city over the past six weeks.

In the coming time, Ha Noi is stepping up efforts to prepare to host  the 37th ASEAN Summit, for which Mr. Hue expected greater cooperation between Viet Nam and Thailand in economy, trade and tourism, once international flights are resumed.
