Ha Noi’s GRDP growth targets over 7.5% in 2021

VGP – The Ha Noi People’s Committee has issued Directive No. 14/CT-UBND on the building of socio-economic development plans and State budget estimates for 2021, setting a target of attaining a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate of over 7.5%.

Accordingly, the city requests that local agencies, units and organizations using State budget implement the building of development plans for next year, focusing on key goals and some major balances.

In 2021, Ha Noi will strive to promote rapid and sustainable growth on the basis of maintaining macroeconomic stability and controlling inflation, in addition to accelerating the transformation of digital infrastructure, digital transformation, and the development of digital economy and new economic models applying digital technology. 

Furthermore, the capital will research and formulate a legal framework for development in line with the new situation, such as promoting the transition to the green economy, the environmentally friendly circular economy, the sharing economy and the night-time economy.

Efforts will also be made to improve the local investment and business environment; strengthen interdisciplinary legal support for businesses, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); promote innovative startup; and assist SMEs to effectively participate in sectoral connectivity clusters and regional and global value chains.

Ha Noi will support businesses in restructuring; improving their technological capacity; renovating their production and business modes to flexibly respond to impacts of natural disasters and epidemics; and overcoming damage, restoring production activities and regaining growth after natural disasters and epidemics.

In addition, the city strengthens the mobilization and efficient use of investment resources; enhance the efficiency of using public investment capital; speed up the implementation of investment projects, especially important national projects and key projects; and accelerate the construction of synchronous infrastructure in the areas of transportation, information technology, communication, agriculture and rural areas.
