Ha Noi’s first overpass opens to traffic

VGP - The 8.9-km elevated belt road No. 3, which allows vehicles to run at a maximum speed of 100km/h, opened to traffic on October 21.

The overpass is designed for automobiles only

The overpass, running from Mai Dich to Linh Dam, helps to reduce congestions in the inner city of Ha Noi and boost socioeconomic development by linking the capital to its satellite cities through a network of inner-city roads and national expressways.

The road is designed to have four high-speed (100 kph) lanes and two lanes for emergency stop.

Started in June 2010, the project which was invested over VND 5.5 trillion from Japanese ODA is inaugurated nearly 15 months ahead of schedule.
