VGP – Over the years, the program to strengthen linkages in the supply chain through the organization of supply-demand connection conferences has brought about many positive results, contributing significantly to the development of the domestic market in association with the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize the use of Vietnamese goods”.

As home to more than 10 million inhabitants, Ha Noi has been and will be a large commodity consumption market with a leading modern and synchronous distribution network in the country. During the period of 2016-2019, four conferences on trade exchange and supply-demand connection between Ha Noi and other localities nationwide were successfully organized, within the framework of the capital’s program on regional connection and trade exchange.

The events attracted the participation of enterprises from 50 cities and provinces across the country. Under the program, over 30 delegations of Ha Noi businesses and officials were deployed to participate in trade exchange activities in cities and provinces, including Son La, Ha Giang, Bac Kan, Binh Thuan, An Giang and Ca Mau, among others.

In addition, the program invited Ha Noi firms to participate in more than 50 conferences and activities on trade exchange and supply-demand connection in Ho Chi Minh City,  Nam Dinh, Bac Kan, Son La, Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Lang Son, Da Nang, Lam Dong, Can Tho, and An Giang.

The program also supported provinces and cities to organize about 30 weeks of fruit and farm produce weeks in Ha Noi and across the distribution channels in the city, while informing and supporting 250 turns of local enterprises to register to participate in fairs and exhibitions in localities nationwide.

Moreover, the program assisted cities and provinces to introduce more than 3,000 products on the capital’s safe agricultural production website, and created favorable conditions for products of 28 cities and provinces to be advertised on the foreign distribution channels, such as Aeon (Japan), Lotte (the Republic of Korea) and Central Group (Thailand).

Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said that between 2018-2019, Ha Noi signed comprehensive cooperation agreements with 44 out of the 63 provinces and cities nationwide, including trade exchange and goods supply.

Accordingly, 24 connection activities on fruit, farm produce and flower consumption and 19 fruit and farm produce weeks in Ha Noi were organized following the signings, with over 350 new products connected by Ha Noi companies to be consumed in the capital’s market.

Particularly, the provinces of Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Son La and Ninh Thuan earned the revenue of more than VND1 trillion (US$43.22 million) after connecting their products and goods with the distribution channels in the capital city.
