In its urgent public telegraph issued on July 26, the Ha Noi People’s Committee asked the Department of Health to prepare facilities, equipment and consumable medical supplies to satisfy the battle against the pandemic when required. The department was also told to take samples of those entering the city from foreign countries for SARS-CoV-2 testing at least twice, while closely monitoring the evolution of the disease to promptly deal with the possible scenarios.

Accordingly, the municipal Department of Health requested relevant units to review their equipment, consumable medical supplies and preventive chemicals, and anticipate the demands for the COVID-19 battle. In addition, they were asked to strengthen monitoring at medical establishments to promptly detect the suspect cases and put them under quarantine and testing, as well as improve the testing capabilities at all levels.

Those departing from or passing Da Nang from July 8 are recommended to self-quarantine at home.

The cases with relations to the three hospitals in Da Nang and places noticed by the Ministry of Health should make medical declarations and promptly notify medical establishments in case of medical abnormalities.

The Ha Noi Department of Health urged units to continue disseminating information about the pandemic prevention and control, recommending people limit travel at the present time.

With Viet Nam to welcome 129 COVID-19 patients home from Equatorial Guinea, the Health Department asked the Ha Noi Center for Disease Control (CDC) to coordinate with localities to closely monitor the related cases. Local hospitals must strengthen supervision in clinics and departments treating infectious diseases, while devising plans to admit patients subject to quarantine and treatment right at the hospitals./.
