Ha Noi to maintain strict social distancing in “red zone”

VGP – Ha Noi authorities have divided the city into three zones for application of different COVID-19 prevention and control measures, starting from September 6.

The division is based on the level of pandemic outbreak risk as well as characteristics of each locality such as geography, population and production, thus ensuring pandemic control measures and maintaining production.

Zone 1 is currently the “red area”, covering entire districts of Tay Ho, Ba Dinh, Cau Giay, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Thanh Xuan, Ha Dong, Thanh Tri, Hoang Mai and part of Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoai Duc, Thanh Oai and Thuong Tin districts.

Social distancing measures in line with the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 16 will be imposed in this zone. Residents in the zone 1 are required to stay where they are.

Zone 2 covering the entire districts of Long Bien, Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Soc Son and Me Ling will be placed under social distancing measures in accordance with the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 15.

Looser measures will be applied in Zone 3 which covers the entire districts of Ba Vi, Son Tay, Phuc Tho, Dan Phuong, Thach That, Quoc Oai, Chuong My, Ung Hoa, My Duc, Phu Xuyen and the remaining parts of districts in Zone 1 - Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoai Duc, Thanh, and Thuong Tin.

Directive No. 15 requires suspension of social events, bans gatherings of 20 people or more in one place and of 10 people or more outside workplaces, schools and hospitals.

People are requested to keep a minimum distance of two meters from each other in public places.

Meanwhile, Directive No. 16 requires people to stay home and only go out for basic necessities like buying food or medicines or to work at places that are still allowed to open.

The capital city began to impose social distancing order in line with Directive No. 16 from July 24.

To date, the city recorded 3,981 community infection cases of COVID-19, including 44 fatalities./.
