Ha Noi to implement 2017 Administrative Discipline Year

VGP – After nearly four days of working, the third session of the Ha Noi People’s Council (15th tenure) completed all the envisaged programs, reviewing the city’s socio-economic, security and defence , and budget revenue and spending performance in 2016, and defining the key tasks for 2017.

Addressing the closing session on December 8, Chairwoman of the Ha Noi People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc highlighted that Ha Noi has successfully realized the important political tasks set for 2016, manifested through the continuous socio-economic development, stable political security and safeguarded social order and safety.

During the meeting, members of the council frankly pointed out the shortcomings and weaknesses as well as set out measures to remove difficulties in fulfilling socio-economic development tasks in 2017, including completing the system of economic-technical standards and norms; restructuring public investment, budget, finance and public debts; and well fulfilling the medium-term public investment plans associated with the medium-term financial plans and public debt payment plans, she said.

The task of publicizing information and tightening supervision over public investment was also put forward alongside drastically implementing prevention and control measures against corruption and wastefulness, Ngoc noted.

Ha Noi decided to choose 2017 as the “Year of Administrative Discipline” with the goals of improving the business climate, encouraging starts-up and innovation; ensuring social security and welfare; protecting the environment and improving the people’s lives; and accelerating the development of culture, education and healthcare.

The chairwoman also emphasized that the capital will pay greater attention to enhancing the management of planning, construction, urban areas and new-style rural area building; ensuring defence, security and social order; improving the efficiency of foreign affairs and international integration; raising the efficiency of law enforcement; accelerating administrative reform; exercising thrift practice and waste combat; and strengthening corruption prevention and control./.
