Ms. Ha made the announcement yesterday at an online meeting of the Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Deputy Director of the city Department of Health Hoang Duc Hanh reported that Ha Noi has gone 49 days without any new locally-transmitted cases (since February 16). The city confirmed 35 local infections in the fourth period (since January 27).
Up to 7,679 people received their first shots in the first phase (from March 29 to April 5).
However, Mr. Hanh warned that preventive measures must still be in place in the ‘new normal situation’.
Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Chu Xuan Dung said that in the first round, Hanoi has prepared carefully for Covid-19 vaccination and ensured safety for all recipients.
“For the upcoming second round of Covid-19 vaccination, the city will pay attention to screening and ensuring vaccination criteria. The vaccine must be injected to the right people," said Dung.
The Vice Chairman said that the disease situation in Ha Noi has been basically put under control; however, the potential risk of Covid-19 spreading is still high.
He requested that in the coming time, departments, districts, and towns must enforce the disease control and prevention in their respective locations. Operational companies, restaurants and factories must abide by the Covid-19 protocols./.
