This month, the city continues to see a sharp decline in the number of visitors due to the impact of the pandemic, and the average occupancy rate of 1-5 star hotels is estimated at 12.2%, down 22% from the previous month and down 52% year-on-year. Regarding the eight-month period, the average occupancy rate of local hotels is estimated at 29.6%, a year-on-year decrease of 40.8%.

In this context, in September, the Ha Noi Department of Tourism will continue monitoring the disease’s impacts on local tourism activities, accommodation establishments and tourist destinations, as well as adjusting the implementation of its Plan No. 73/KH-SDL dated June 10, 2020 on stimulating domestic tourism in the capital, and advising on the organization of domestic tourism stimulus programs, depending on the situation of the pandemic.

In addition, the department plans to submit ideas and designs of tourist signage systems, craft village tourism brand identities and tourism souvenirs to the municipal People’s Committee for approval. Also, the agency will develop and implement a plan to realize the municipal People’s Committee’s Plan No. 169/KH-UBND dated August 20, 2020 on developing e-commerce in the city’s tourism industry in the period of 2021-2025./.
