Ha Noi shuts down bars, karaoke parlors, discos in latest anti-COVID-19 move

VGP – All karaoke parlors, bars and discos in Ha Noi have been shut down from 0:00 on February 1 until further notice in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 in the city.

The move was decided by the municipal People’s Committee at a recent virtual meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control, in the context that the pandemic is developing complicatedly.

All local eateries are requested to regularly disinfect surfaces, use hand sanitizers, arrange seats to ensure social distancing, and ask their staff to wear face masks.

The city urges COVID-19 testing for all the people who travelled to / from Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Duong Province from January 1 and to / from Quang Ninh Province’s Van Don International Airport from January 5 until present.

Employees of Noi Bai International Airport related to the COVID-19 cases in Van Don Airport will also be tested.

Hospitals and medical establishments are told to maintain the separation of patients (with confirmed or unconfirmed COVID-19) and ask patients and their relatives to wear face masks, while strengthening COVID-19 testing for suspected COVID-19 patients, those with serious illness, and medical workers.

Relevant units must urgently trace contacts and localize the outbreaks when positive cases and related cases are detected in the city, in order to prevent the wide spread of the disease in the community. 

In addition, the municipal People’s Committee requested the enhanced inspection over the compliance with pandemic prevention and control measures, especially at restaurants, markets, supermarkets and public areas.

In another move, Ha Noi is planning to carry out similar test for all staff working at Noi Bai International Airport who had been in contact with a Covid-19 case from Van Don Airport./.
