Ha Noi, RoK cooperate in waste-to-energy project

VP - Ha Noi and the Republic of Korea (ROK) reached in Ha Noi on September 11 a deal on implementing a project to recover buried gas at the Nam Son Waste Treatment Complex in the suburban Soc Son district .

Accordingly, the Ha Noi Urban Environment Company (URENCO), T&T Group and three leading ROK companies in waste treatment and construction, namely Sudokwon Landfill Management Corporation, Korea Engineering Consultants Corporation and Samyoung Plant Co. Ltd., signed an agreement to implement the aforementioned project.

The project is  highly regarded for its feasibility of reusing waste as an electrical energy resource and is leading the way for the management of other waste facilities in Viet Nam.

Chairman of the Viet Nam Urban Environment Company La Anh Tuan said the plant was scheduled to be built within 15 months with a total investment of US$13.146 million. It will be operating  in 15 years.
