Ha Noi mayor welcomes Swiss Ambassador

At the reception, Chung expressed his hope that the Swiss diplomat will act as a bridge stepping up cooperation in economics, trade, investment, culture and tourism between the two nations as well as between Ha Noi and Swiss localities.

The chairman also assured the capital city’s willingness to work together with the Swiss Embassy in Viet Nam on the organization of activities marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Switzerland. Ha Noi will participate in culinary demonstration and cultural performances to be held by the embassy.

He also agreed to enhance investment promotion and pledged that Ha Noi will always create the best conditions for European businesses, including those from Switzerland, especially in the fields of health and education.

In turn, Swiss Ambassador to Viet Nam Ivo Sieber said he is proud of the ties between Ha Noi and his country’s capital city of Bern and that Switzerland is among the first European countries to establish diplomatic relations with Viet Nam.

He highlighted the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2021 as an occasion for the two countries’ business communities to seek investment opportunities and propel Ha Noi-Bern collaboration in politics, economics, and trade forward./.
