Ha Noi mayor rejects city lockdown

Chairman Chung added that the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control and the local Steering Committee have yet considered city lockdown. 

He affirmed that the local authorities are properly controlling the situation. 

Earlier, on March 19, the local authorities met with local retail suppliers discussing   goods stockpile. 

Representatives of supermarkets and retailers reported that they have already reserved 300% of goods than normal in order to ensure adequate supply for local residents. 

The Chairman called upon local residents to rebuff rumors; avoid crowds; and not be hurried to accumulate food and foodstuff./.
