VGP – Ha Noi is now focusing on developing a civilized and modern trading system aiming to create an attractive and environmentally friendly shopping space, towards realizing the goal of becoming a trading hub of the country and the Southeast Asian region.

Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan said that the municipal People’s Committee has implemented a plan on the development of civilized and modern trade and services in the city.

Accordingly, Ha Noi targets to develop 52 shopping malls, 23 hypermarkets, 111 grade-2 supermarkets, 865 grade-3 supermarkets, 595 markets, 1,000 convenience stores, and 1,000 vending machines installed in public places until 2020, with a vision to 2030.

To accomplish this goal, Ha Noi has put in place many solutions such as giving reasonable land fund for investment in developing civilized and modern commercial and service infrastructure in the process of relocating offices of administrative agencies and factories in the inner city.

In addition, the city has supported investors to expand the production scale and upgrade the commercial infrastructure projects that are operating effectively, while creating favorable conditions for investors in terms of investment procedures and policies on land compensation and clearance when implementing projects related to this field.

At the same time, Ha Noi has strengthened investment promotion activities in the field of trade, attracting a number of large-scale and important projects, including four trade centers of Vingroup in the districts of Dong Anh, Gia Lam and Thanh Tri, and an international farm produce wholesale market projects, to be implemented by France’s Semmaris Group in Gia Lam district.

“All of the aforementioned efforts and contributions will contribute to building a modern, civilized, clean, beautiful and environmentally friendly Ha Noi trading system, meeting development requirements and consumer needs,” Lan emphasized.

It can be seen that the strong and relevant development of modern retail forms has been one of the prominent highlights in the capital’s economic development over recent years. When shopping at supermarkets in Ha Noi, consumers are free to choose plentiful products, services and consumer goods with guaranteed quality.

Therefore, the investment in developing a modern retail system will contribute to improving consumers’ awareness and creating a modern and civilized shopping method./.
