Ha Noi looks to optimize supporting industry potential

SI is always considered a very important area which plays a big role in changing the industrial structure and contributes significantly to improving competitiveness, attracting investment, increasing exports, and expanding the scale and production efficiency of Ha Noi’s industry. Therefore, developing SI always remains a priority of the city, with  preferential policies  having already been designed to support SI enterprises.

Over the past few years, Ha Noi has made great efforts to promote the field. The city’s strength groups of SI sectors and products, such as manufacturing automobile and motorcycle parts, electrical materials, packaging and electronic components, are gradually replacing the imported parts and components, thereby increasing the localizationr rate and creating competitiveness for domestic industrial products.

Creating a  repulsive force for businesses

In order to ensure Ha Noi’s SI develop commensurate with its potential and be able to participate in the global supply chain, the city has set out the task of enhancing capabilities of local SI enterprises through improving effectiveness of support programs, while attracting investment from all economic sectors into the SI aiming to increase the number and quality of businesses operating in the industry.

From now until 2020, Ha Noi will investigate and survey about 1,000 firms in some key industries, such as processing-manufacturing, electricity-electronics, materials, garment and textile, leather and footwear, and packaging. Based on the results, the city will build a model of administering and updating database on enterprises and developing a web portal on Ha Noi’s SI.

At the same time, fairs and exhibitions showcasing SI products will be held annually in Ha Noi, aiming to offer chances for its SI firms to seek customers and develop the consumption market both at home and abroad. 

In addition to the aforementioned support solutions, Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade Dam Tien Thang said that domestic enterprises should also pay attention to reforming themselves, improving competitiveness and seeking directions to approach multinational businesses and corporations to explore the partners’ requirements and seek “output” for their products. Particularly, it is necessary for businesses to actively renovate technology and improve administration and production capabilities, in order to gain a foothold in the current competitive market./.
