Ha Noi licenses 68 new FDI projects in July

In the first seven months of 2019, the capital city attracted approximately US$5.11 billion worth of FDI capital, including US$270 million from 475 newly licensed projects. Meanwhile, 111 projects adjusted their investment capital to increase by US$359 million. Capital contribution and share purchase of foreign investors were reported at US$4.481 billion. 

Ha Noi continues to prove itself as an attractive destination and a vibrant market for investors and businesses. Between 2016-2018, the city lured nearly US$14.05 billion, 2.25 times higher than in the 2011-2015 period. Last year, Ha Noi’s FDI attraction reached US$7.5 billion, a record high in 30 years and a 2.18-fold increase compared to 2017, ranking first among localities nationwide. In addition to attracting large investment projects in real estate and the manufacturing industry, the city has attracted FDI projects in the fields of high technology, clean water treatment, waste treatment and education & training.

Ha Noi considers social investment resources as a driving force for its development. Regarding  foreign direct investment, the city focuses on attracting investment & business cooperation, purchasing and receiving transfers of new technologies and experience in smart city development, and accelerating connectivity, trade and import & export 

In 2019, Ha Noi continues to strongly improve the local investment & business environment, in addition to encouraging innovation and startup and improving its competitiveness and provincial competitiveness index (PCI). 

At the same time, the city will strengthen investment promotion and implement measures to effectively mobilize and use domestic and foreign resources for development investment. This year, Ha Noi targets to attract more than US$5 billion worth of FDI capital and disburse over US$2.3 billion.
