Ha Noi licenses 65 new projects in August

VGP – Ha Noi has licensed 65 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects so far this month with a total registered capital of US$13.1 million, including 54 wholly foreign-invested projects and 11 joint ventures.

In addition, seven projects have registered to increase their investment capital with an additional sum of US$3.7 million, according to the Ha Noi Statistical Office.

During the month, foreign investors have poured US$776 million into the city in the forms of capital contribution and share purchase.

As of August 20, FDI pledges to Ha Noi reached US$646 million, including US$284 million registered for 540 new projects and US$362 million pledged to existing projects.

In the first eight months of 2019, FDI pledges foreign investors to the capital city hit US$5.17 billion. A total of 27 projects were terminated, suspended or liquidated, including 24 wholly foreign-owned projects and 3 joint ventures.

In 2019, Ha Noi continues to drastically improve its investment and business environment; encourage innovation and start-up; and improve its competitiveness and provincial competitiveness index (PCI), especially in the fields of planning, investment, land, construction, and granting business registration certificates and investment licenses. The city will effectively implement preferential policies, especially those concerning tax, credit, land and human resources. Along with that, Ha Noi will strengthen investment promotion and carry out measures to mobilize and effectively use domestic and foreign resources for development investment. The capital city has set a target of disbursing over US$2.3 billion.
