Ha Noi leads nationwide in FDI attraction

Among 62 cities and provinces having received foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2019, Ha Noi has attracted the largest share of capital commitments with US$8.45 billion, accounting for 22.2% of total investment in the period.

The majority of investment capital in Ha Noi is under the form of capital contribution and share acquisition with US$6.33 billion. Investors committed to pouring US$1.39 billion into 871 new projects and an additional US$738 million into 180 existing projects. 

Beerco Limited (Hong Kong) poured US$3.85 billion into Vietnam Beverage for a beer project in Hanoi.

This year, the number of newly established enterprises is estimated at 27,900 with a combined registered capital of VND510.7 trillion (US$22.1 billion), up 11% in number and 30% in value year-on-year.

Average registered capital per newly-established enterprise reached VND18.3 billion (US$791,862), up 17% year-on-year, much higher than the national average of VND12.5 billion (US$540,889), indicating better health of local companies entering the market. 

Notably, 100% of business registrations are made online, helping save time and cost for enterprises.

Ha Noi continues to maintain the 100%-rate of online business registration without delay in administration procedures. 

This is in line with the local authority’s efforts to support businesses’ operation in Ha Noi, from business registration to project implementation, while ensuring a transparent and fair business environment with no discrimination in accessing land and financial resources.

Ha Noi is scheduled to hold its annual investment promotion conference and push for greater business and investment environments through addressing shortcomings in master planning, issuance of investment and business licenses./.
