Ha Noi leader welcomes Cuban Ambassador


VGP -  Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung in Ha Noi on February 13 received Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Lianys Torres Rivera.

At the reception, the ambassador said the Cuban embassy will collaborate with Viet Nam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Cuba.

On this occasion, some Cuban famous music bands will be invited to perform in Ha Noi and she counts on the support of Ha Noi’s authorities for this activities, she added.

Besides, the ambassador confirmed that with the support of the Ha Noi People's Committee, her embassy will complete the tilework on Yen Phu street in the fourth quarter of 2020.

In turn, agreeing with Cuba’s programs to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relationship with Viet Nam, Ha Noi mayor Nguyen Duc Chung affirmed that Ha Noi will support the embassy in organizing the upcoming Cuba Cultural Day at the Ly Thai To monument.

He emphasized the long-lasting strong relationship between Viet Nam and Cuba cultivated by Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro, adding that Ha Noi’s authorities always welcome and support all activities which highlight and promote the bilateral ties.

In addition, the chaiman thanked Cuba for inviting Viet Nam to participate in the Havana International Book Fair 2020 as the honorary guest. The fair, which is taking place from February 6 to 16, is one of the most prominent annual cultural events of the Caribbean island nation./.
