Ha Noi leader receives ADB Country Director for VN

At the reception, ADB Country Director for Viet Nam Eric Sidgwick congratulated Ha Noi in particular and Viet Nam in general for effectively controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. This is really a great achievement and a lesson for many countries, including developed ones, he said.

ADB is willing to assist Ha Noi to keep controlling the disease through multiple pathways, the ADB country director pledged.

Regarding the urban railway line No.3, Eric Sidgwick said he is happy that the project is on the right track. ADB will soon send experts to work in Viet Nam and accelerate the progress of the important project.

In turn, Chung said the Vietnamese government would soon approve financial mechanisms for Ha Noi so that the municipal government can arrange funds for some urban projects.

The capital city is always willing to work with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to complete urban infrastructure projects in the city, ensure both quality and progress, he added.

He thanked Eric Sidgwick for his important contributions to the development of Vietnam in general and Ha Noi in particular.

Currently, the capital city is determined to realize its dual goal of fighting Covid-19 and rebooting the economy, creating a momentum for economic recovery, and the Investment Promotion Conference on June 27 is an important step.

The municipal government’s support for people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is also being delivered timely, he added.

For Ha Noi’s metro line No.3 that connect Nhon and the Ha Noi Railway Station, the Ha Noi mayor believes that the National Assembly would soon approve a number of specific budgetary and financial mechanisms for Ha Noi so that the municipal government can arrange funds for the project.

The chairman expressed his hope that Eric Sidgwick in his new post will continue to contribute to Ha Noi’s future development.
