VGP – Now 65 years on since the liberation of the capital, Ha Noi has still retained the heroic memories of the past, while rising to develop strongly as one of the most dynamic cities in the region.

On the occasion, the diplomats living, working and having close bonds with Ha Noi have shared their feelings and assessments about the city’s transformation as well as the cooperation potential in the future.

Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Lianys Torres Rivera

Ha Noi is among the leaders in FDI attraction

Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Lianys Torres Rivera:

Sixty-five years since its liberation, Ha Noi has been developing vigorously in all fields. I could feel the hospitality and affection of the local citizens. Over recent years, Ha Noi and Cuba have shared a lot of cooperation experience and exchanged delegations at all levels in various spheres, aiming to further promote and deepen bilateral relations.

In Ha Noi, the Cuban Embassy has always been actively involved in the cultural activities organized by the city and units to accelerate exchanges and cohesion between the two sides. Next year, Viet Nam and Cuba will celebrate the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties. This will be a special opportunity for the Embassy of Cuba in Viet Nam and Ha Noi to deploy more meaningful activities, contributing practically to strengthening the brotherly solidarity between Viet Nam and Cuba.

Ha Noi is facing historic opportunities

Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Umeda Kunio:

It is lucky of me to live and work in Ha Noi. I am very grateful as many Ha Noi citizens always show their friendliness and affection for the country and people of Japan. The establishment of close cooperation between the Embassy of Japan in Viet Nam and the Ha NoiPeople’s Committee has contributed positively to the solidification of ties between the two countries.  At present, Ha Noi is trying to improve the investment environment, reflected through many aspects, including listening to the voices of businesses and quickly resolving problems. Therefore, Japanese businesses have demonstrated their wish to continue investing in the city.

Cooperation between Ha Noi and Belgian localities has brought good results

Belgian Ambassador to Viet Nam Paul Jansen:

I really love Ha Noi’s tourist attractions such as Hoan KiemLake and the Temple of Literature, which are reminiscent of the city’s prideworthy cultural and historical heritages.

Since opening its embassy in Ha Noi in 1973, Belgium has maintained a close relationship with Viet Nam despite historical volatility. Belgian localities have also cooperated effectively with Ha Noi in a number of projects. Meanwhile, Belgium’s universities also foster a long-standing cooperation tradition with Ha Noi’s universities. I believe that cooperation between Ha Noi and Belgian localities will continue to bring about good results in the future.

The Ha Noi people have a strong sense of community

South African Ambassador to Viet Nam MpetjaneKgaogelo Lekgoro:

When I first came to this vibrant city, I was deeply moved by the hospitality and warm sentiments of the local people. I observed how tourism in Ha Noi flourished, and this was explained when I admired the beautiful landscapes and unique architectural works that told the story of the 1,000-year-old capital’s history and culture. Ha Noi is also a dynamic, safe city with the local people who have a strong sense of community. By sharing many common perceptions, Ha Noi and the localities of Viet Nam have great potential to boost cooperation with South Africa in the field of agriculture and farm produce processing. We have entered the Fourth Industrial Revolution, so Ha Noiand Viet Nam need to take advantage of this opportunity to move towards prosperous development.
