Ha Noi exhibition honors General Vo Nguyen Giap

VGP – An exhibition featuring portrait of General Vo Nguyen Giap and the Dien Bien Phu victory is taking place at the Viet Nam Military History Museum in Ha Noi, with over 200 images and objects related to the national hero late General.

The display themed “Dai Tuong Vo Nguyen Giap voiChien Khu Viet Bac" (General Vo Nguyen Giap and Northernmost Viet Nam Base) exhibition. The exhibition displays paintings and graphic works honoring the legendary General Giap, whose name is strongly associated with the Dien Bien Phu victory and honor the significant contribution of the General in the national liberation, construction and protection, particularly during the period when the General was living and working in the Northernmost Viet Nam Base. 

The images and objects are displayed in three main categories: Northernmost Viet Nam Base – The Cradle of Viet Nam’s Revolution; General Vo Nguyen Giap From Northernmost Viet Nam Base till the Day of Complete Victory; and People’s General.

This was when he took crucial decisions that contributed to the national victory in the resistance war against the French.

In addition, it is considered a tribute to the national hero of the Vietnamese People’s Army, commemorating his 5th death anniversary, 

The exhibition is jointly organized by the Viet Nam Military History Museum and the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the three northern provinces of Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Lang Son.

The Viet Nam Military History Museum is located at No 28A Dien Bien Phu Street, Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi./.
