Ha Noi donates medical supplies to help French localities contain COVID-19

VGP – The Ha Noi People’s Committee on May 18 presented 200,000 medical face masks to help France’s Ile-de-France region, Toulouse city and Choisy-le-Roi city cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donations included 150,000 masks as gifts from Ha Noi to the Ile-de-France region, 20,000 from Ha Noi’s Hoan Kiem district to Toulouse, and 30,000 offered by Ha Noi’s Dong Da district to Choisy-le-Roi.

The face masks are manufactured by Vietnamese businesses, meeting quality standards prescribed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and bearing the European Union’s CE marking.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ha Noi mayor Nguyen Duc Chung said that the Covid-19 evolution is still complicated, thus, international cooperation and solidarity is needed to curb the pandemic spread and minimize its impacts on every country in the world.

Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung stress that Viet Nam always keeps a close eye and appreciates the drastic measures undertaken by the French government to curb the spread of the pandemic in the community, ensure social security and support the affected citizens. 

As a country impacted by the disease, Viet Nam understands and sympathizes with the difficulties faced by France and the common efforts made by the European country in the fight against COVID-19, he stated.

For his part, French Ambassador to Viet Nam Nicolas Warnery expressed his sincere gratitude for the gifts from the Party Committee, administration and people of Ha Noi, which he said were significant amid the current complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in France.
