Benefits for many parties

According to the Ha Noi Investment, Trade, Tourism Promotion Center (ITTPC), with a population of about 10 million people, the capital city has a big demand for agricultural products.

In order to provide sources of clean farm produce and food for local consumers, Ha Noi has strengthened regional linkages and the connection of supply and demand between provinces and cities throughout the country.

Supporting the improvement of product quality

Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, Deputy Director of the Ha Noi ITTPC, said that over recent times, the city has come up with many solutions to support businesses to advertise their products and facilitate consumption connection. Notably, the center coordinated with the project “Strengthening the distribution of safe agricultural products” (JICA Safe Crop, Japan) to organize a conference to stimulate the consumption of Ha Noi’s safe agro-products.

The event offered an opportunity for producers, distributors and traders of safe farm produce in Ha Noiand other localities to boost connection and cooperation, as well as to access and seek cooperation with Japanese enterprises.

Mitsuru Nanakubo, chief advisor of JICA’s technical cooperation project, said that with the support of JICA Safe Crop, the Ha Noi ITTPC has developed a website on the city’s safe agricultural products (nongsanantoanhanoi.gov.vn), aiming to connect and support reputable production facilities and businesses in introducing their safe, high-quality and clear-origin goods to Ha Noi consumers. So far, the website has drawn the participation of nearly 300 producers, distributors and link chains of Hanoi and other provinces, with approximately 400,000 visits to search for information.

In addition, Ha Noi will support the development of a link chain from production to consumption, which aims to help control the quality and improve the value of products, as well as to regulate the benefits stages in the link chain. Particularly, the city will create favorable conditions for businesses when they invest in the processing and consumption of products for farmers, and in the development of hi-tech agricultural models.
