Hà Nội: advertisements in ancient quarter restricted
VGP – The municipal authority of Hà Nội recently announced that it will tighten management over advertisements since September 3 on. Accordingly, advertising will be restricted in the ancient quarter and some areas.

No advertisement is permitted within the Ba Đình Square (which is bordered by the streets of Phan Đình Phùng, Nguyễn Tri Phương, Điện Biên Phủ, Trần Phú, and Hùng Vương) and at offices of Party and State agencies at all levels, political and social organizations, military camps, police stations, foreign embassies and international organizations; historical and cultural sites, religious establishments, and recognized tourist spots.
Advertising is restricted at the Square 19/8 (Opera House), Square 1/5 (Labor Palace); Hoàn Kiếm Lake and the surrounding streets; and the ancient quarters which is bounded within the streets of Hàng Đậu, Trần Nhật Duật, Trần Quang Khải, Hàng Thùng, Cầu Gỗ, Hàng Gai, Hàng Bông, and Phùng Hưng.
The water surface of all lakes in the city can be used to advertise sports, cultural and art activities or those allowed by the authorities.
