The Chairman made the announcement on July 6 at a meeting of the People’s Council on July 6.

The nation’s first Formula 1 race could take place in Ha Noi this November after a seven-month delay occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chairman Chung said that Ha Noi will make "a thorough assessment of disease-related issues.”

The race, which was scheduled to take place at My Dinh Stadium from April 3 to 5, was postponed as the Covid-19 pandemic precipitated crises in more than 200 countries and territories, leading to lockdowns, flight cancellations and stringent travel restrictions.

In addition, the city will continue to implement preparatory projects for SEA Games 31 and Para Games 11.

As of early this month, the F1 organizers had canceled seven of the 22 races, while those to be held in Viet Nam, Bahrain, China, Canada, Russia, USA, Mexico, Brazil and the UAE remain uncertain.

Ha Noi received 100,000 registrations of foreign travelers to attend F1 race

About 40,000 Vietnamese spectators would watch F1 live at home./.
