The visit to the centre is part of his one-day trip back to Viet Nam to inspect the implementation of the Clinton Health Access Initiative in order to prevent tuberculosis among children living with HIV.
He also had a talk with students at the Ha Noi Foreign Trade University during that visit.
In November 2000, Clinton visited Viet Nam for the first time by a US President since the two countries normalized diplomatic relations in 1995, 20 years after the Viet Nam War ended.
He later returned to Viet Nam in several occasions to promote work of the Clinton Foundation in the country.
