First trains of Nhon-Ha Noi station metro route to arrive next June

VGP – The Nhon-Ha Noi station metro route will receive ten trains in June, 2020 according to the capital city’s urban railway management board.

With a maximum design of 80km per hour, the trains will operate in 35km per hour on average.  

Alstom group, which is manufacturing ten trains for the railway line in Ha Noi announced that four sets will be integrated into the railway system in Viet Nam by August next year and run on a trial basis for two months before they are put into official operation. 

The project covers ten trains. Each train has four carriages with a total length of 78.2m, 94 seats, and expects to receive 944 passengers. 

The project was ground-broken in September 2010 and was scheduled to be completed in September 2017. 

The Ha Noi People’s Committee passed the project deadline and capital allocation of the project. Accordingly, the 8.5km elevated section will be finished in April 2021 and the remaining 4km underground line will be opened in December 2022.

Its investment of about VND 30.1 trillion comes from Official Development Assistance of the French Development Agency and loans from the French Government.

The urban railway line No.3  will cover 12.5km, running through six districts namely Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, Dong Da, and Hoan Kiem with 12 stations including eight elevated and four underground./.
