First int’l music festival to be held in October

VGP - About 100 international performers will gather at the imperial citadel in the capital city for the first international music festival in the capitol's history from October 2- 4.

 Danish electronic rock band Carpark North will perform at the Mosoon Music Festival 2014 in October.

The event was jointly-organized by the Ministry of Culture, the municipal People’s Committee, a number of Vietnamese artists and a number of expat cultural organizations in the country.

Vietnamese artists, such as singers Ha Tran, Thanh Lam, Ngu Cung, Kimmese, Suboi, 5 Dong Ke, and foreign artists including percussionist Rhani Krija from Morocco, keyboard player Martin Hedin from Sweden, jazz guitarist French-Vietnamese Nguyen Le and others from Denmark, the UK, France, Belgium, Japan and the Republic of Korea  will showcase their talents at the event.

The goal of dealing a blow of fresh air of modern music to the capital audience, the event, the first of its kind to take place in Ha Noi, will unveil a range of new music projects.

The schedule of performance for Vietnamese and foreign artists in the international music festival - one of major cultural activities to celebrate Ha Noi’s 60th Liberation Day (October 10), was announced by the organising board yesterday.

The opening night of the event will be broadcast live on national television. The Monsoon Music Festival will run from 4-11pm on each of the three days.
